For lovers of architecutre and theatres, the Colon Theatre is regarded to be one of the greatest theatres all over the World for its excellent acoustic and for the artistic value of its construction. Construction started with Italian architect Francisco Tamburini and was finished by the Belgian Jules Dormal, who introduced his French touch to the decoration. The theatre was finally inaugurated in 1908. The MALBA (Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires) founded on September 2001 houses a collection of Latin American Art from the early 20th century to the present days. It also holds temporary exhibitions covering both local and international collections. Founded in 1858, Café Tortoni is the oldest café in Argentina and have been frequented by some of the most local renowned artists. With its wood-paneled walls and its oak and green marble tables, it is worth a visit for those interested to experience a part of BA's cultural past.
